Craig Goodman

Craig has served the Stephen F. Austin State University Police Department since January 2019, he recently earned the distinction of being recognized as the Officer of the Month for October 2023. Learn more about his achievement here. His previous roles include Deputy Chief and Chief of Police for the Brenham, Texas Police Department. His extensive experience began in June 1989 with the Pasadena, Texas Police Department, where he held various positions until September 2015.

Raised in Houston, Craig comes from a family of esteemed educators, with both parents having schools named in their honor. His connection to education is further deepened by his wife, a dedicated first-grade teacher. Together, they are proud parents and grandparents, sharing their lives with four children and two grandchildren.

Educationally, Craig has a BBA in Finance from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Houston. His accolades include completing the FBI National Academy's 235th Session and the Graduate Management Institute at Sam Houston State University in 1999.

Since 2019, Craig has channeled his passion for service as a Director of The Charette Foundation. His commitment to serving others, evident from his law enforcement career, seamlessly translates to his role in the foundation. Craig's dedication to making a positive impact on society and uplifting the lives of those around him resonates profoundly with the foundation's mission.
