Robbie Gail Charette Police Canine Support Program
Robbie Gail Charette Police Canine Support: Strengthening Law Enforcement with Canine Allies
In a stride towards expanding our impactful initiatives, the members of the Foundation's board have proudly introduced the Robbie Gail Charette Police Canine Support Program. This pioneering endeavor aims to provide invaluable assistance to Texas Law Enforcement Agencies with fewer than seventy-five (75) sworn personnel, through the provision of adept narcotics or explosives detection dogs. The program extends its reach to agencies that are bestowed with the grant by our dedicated Program Committee.
At its core, this program has been meticulously crafted to empower recipient agencies by equipping them with highly trained and proficient single-purpose canines – specializing in either narcotics or explosives detection. These specially selected canines, sourced from authorized vendors, are set to enhance the capabilities of law enforcement units across Texas.
The Charette Foundation proudly shoulders the expenses related to the acquisition of a trained canine, as well as facilitating an initial two-week comprehensive handler course, which also includes accommodation and meals. This strategic investment is aimed at bolstering the efficiency and effectiveness of the selected agencies, allowing them to tap into the exceptional skills of their new canine companions.
It was the deep-seated affection for dogs that sparked the visionary concept of donating police K-9s. Robbie Gail's unwavering love for these faithful companions, coupled with the Foundation's steadfast support for law enforcement, ignited the desire to contribute in a meaningful way. By establishing the Robbie Gail Charette Police Canine Support Program, a dual passion is seamlessly united – upholding the noble cause of aiding law enforcement while nurturing a profound connection with our canine friends
